Incredible Edible Geraldine is edibilising our urban landscape - simply growing food in public spaces for everyone to share. There are edible plots located around the village, and more popping up all the time.
The project empowers local people to do local initiatives - around food and gardening. The concept is helping promote Geraldine (both nationally and internationally), is building an unbreakable community bond and enhancing the reputation Geraldine already has - as a wonderful place to live and visit.
The Orchard of Legends is an initiative this movement has inspired where fruit and nut trees are gown in public spaces, each one dedicated to local Legend - someone who has lived (or living) a fruitful life. The produce from these trees (and other edible plots around the village are freely available for the community to share.
The group has an online map encouraging locals and tourist alike to find the edible plots and hear the stories behind the Orchard of Legends' fruit trees - while exploring the picturesque village of Geraldine.
Incredible Edible Geraldine is run entirely by volunteers who are passionate about the village and who know there is much more to growing than the food produced. Whether you grow veggies on your front lawn, install an edible bucket, plant a tree or grow a grape vine along your fence - get creative, do it well and tell everyone about it.
